01 / As I sit down at my workbench, surrounded by bolts of luxurious fabric and a kaleidoscope of threads, I am reminded once again of the magic that happens within these walls. Each stitch, each cut, is a testament to the passion and dedication that goes into creating something truly special – something made-to-order.
02 / In a world dominated by mass production and fast fashion, the art of Made to Order or even Bespoke has become a rare and precious commodity. Here at JIN LEE, we pride ourselves on offering our customers the opportunity to create garments that are as unique as they are. From giving a wide choice of fabrics to selecting every last detail of the design, our made-to-order process puts the power of creation directly into the hands of our clients. Something that has been almost completely lost in the fashion industry.
03 / Behind every made-to-order garment lies a symphony of skill and craftsmanship. I’ve surpassed the ‘10000’ hours… from High school in Seoul to a boutique Art Camp in Busan, before travelling to the UK to enhance my English in Bristol. I then realised the UK was the place for me so headed back shortly after to London to finally cut my cloth in Menswear Design at the famous London College of Fashion.
04 / I’ve been able to hone and grow my skills exponentially in the last couple of years, getting real life experience. I am now in a position that I feel comfortable undertaking the bulk of the tasks myself. Designing, Pattern Making/Cutting, Selecting the right fabrics/trimmings, cutting the chosen fabrics, and then finally sewing and finishing processes. But I have had many a helping hand along the way, some very supportive friends and family. It’s a real labor of love, and I am a big believer in grabbing your own life/destiny by doing the things you most enjoy and love.
05 / One of the most rewarding aspects of working in the made-to-order structure is the opportunity to connect with my customers on a much more personal level. Each interaction is a chance to forge lasting relationships and make their ideals come true, in garment form.
06 / In a world grappling with the environmental impact of fast fashion, the made-to-order model offers a beacon of hope. By eschewing mass production in favor of a more sustainable approach, we are able to minimize waste, reduce our carbon footprint, and create garments that are built to last a lifetime. With us overseeing every single step of the ‘Supply Chair’ we can control the quality, price + speed of everything we create. It's a commitment to both our craft and our planet – a reminder that beauty need not come at the expense of sustainability.
07 / As I put the finishing touches on another Made to Order creation, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude. Gratitude for the opportunity to do what I love, gratitude for the incredible friends + family who support me, and gratitude for each and every client who entrusts us with their vision. Together, we are crafting their ideal look, feel and lifestyle – one stitch at a time.
